Overview
United Lincolnshire embarked on one of the largest frontline digitisation procurements undertaken within the NHS, with the ambition to implement a modern Electronic Patient Record (EPR) that would support safe, efficient and sustainable care delivery at scale. Given the size, complexity and strategic importance of the programme, the organisation sought an experienced partner to provide independent advice, assurance and specialist expertise throughout the journey.
What we were asked to do
Procea was engaged as a key strategic partner to support United Lincolnshire across multiple phases of the EPR programme. This included providing expert advice and assurance during the early stages, contributing specialist capability to strengthen internal teams, and supporting the Trust through strategy development, procurement, contract finalisation and business case approval.

Throughout the procurement and business case phases, we focused on clarity, pace and assurance — supporting the Trust to navigate complex commercial, clinical and technical considerations, while maintaining stakeholder confidence and programme momentum. Following approval, our support extended into initiation and mobilisation planning, ensuring the programme was set up for successful delivery from the outset.

United Lincolnshire progressed through a complex and large-scale EPR procurement with strong strategic oversight and informed decision-making. With a clear strategy, approved business case and robust mobilisation plans in place, the organisation was well positioned to move into implementation with confidence.
